Books
Animals Make us Human- Temple Grandin.
This book is a great introduction to the “Blue Ribbon Emotions”, the core emotional system that all mammals share.

Podcasts
The following are all podcasts that I recommend checking out:
Huberman Lab- Dr. Huberman runs a lab at Stanford that focuses on neuroscience. Many of his findings about behaviour are transferrable to dogs.
Training Without Conflict- Hosted by Ivan Balbanov, Ivan speaks to several experts from neuroscientists, to vets, to other trainers, drawing parallels to his work with dogs.
GRC Dog Talk- This podcast is hosted by Jay Jack, who popularized the “Window Theory” in the dog world. He discusses a lot of important concepts for difficult dogs, and dog sports.
The Canine Paradigm- This dog training podcast discusses a different topic each week. They interview trainers with a variety of backgrounds and different methods, which help me keep an open mind.
