Not all board and train programs look the same, but here at Resilient Canine, I put a lot of effort into ensuring that board and train programs are always successful. Your dog stays in my home, where they live like one of my own dogs, facing things that they would encounter in their real world back at home. Once the dog has progressed, I spend a lot of time proofing their behaviours in distracting environments, and environments where they have previously failed to ensure that the training can hold up. We then spend 3 transition lessons together ensuring that you have the skills to keep up with all the work your dog has learned, handing them on your own with my feedback. I offer free follow ups for life for dogs who complete board and train programs with me, as long as I can tell you have been putting in the effort, I will be there to help you.

When your dog comes for a board and train, they are integrated into my life as one of my own dogs. They are taken out for multiple training sessions a day, socialized with other respectable dogs, and taught how to act in public and home settings. They are essentially with me all day every day, learning the life skills they need to form new, better habits. This is a 24/7 commitment for me, and as such is priced accordingly. I do pride myself in offering affordable rates compared to many board and train programs across Toronto.

Training Without Conflict™ (TWC) is a system of dog training developed by 2x World IGP Champion Ivan Balabanov that focuses on training dogs through biological and genetic fulfillment. The training system uses all four quadrants of operant conditioning and emphasizes a true connection and bond with the dog for best results. TWC methodology focuses on building confidence and connection through play, prioritizing control while the dog is in arousal, rather than suppression. TWC trainers have been through extensive schooling to understand psychology, ethology, neuroscience and behaviourism and how it relates to dogs and how they learn. Ivan is an excellent trainer, highly regarded as one of the best in the world. His extensive video library can be accessed here.

I currently offer in home boarding for clients who have worked on training with me in private lessons, board and train or day trains. This is to ensure that the owners and I are on the same page regarding the dogs training, and that the dog is well behaved enough to live in my home. Dogs who board with me who have completed training get to participate in regular daily off leash hikes with other dogs, utilize my in home training space and get treated like one of my own pack during their stay. If you would like to board your dog but have already worked with another trainer, please reach out to me to discuss boarding requirements.

Private lessons have the option of being at my location in Midtown, Toronto, or in your home. Prices vary based on location. At the Midtown location, I offer a quiet indoor training space, with the option to also work outside where the dog will encounter everyday distractions.
